Definitions

ALUMNI:  Adults who spent time in foster care as children or youth.  This includes people who lived in kinship care (placed with family members) and institutional settings.  It is with pride that we claim the term ‘alumni’ because it allows us to claim the expertise and experience we gained through our time in foster care. 

ALLIES:  Professionals, care providers, and community members who share our mission to connect the alumni community and to transform the foster care system.  Allies are people who work with alumni in meaningful partnership to reach our goals.  We recognize the need to work with our allies and we appreciate the contributions our allies make.
