Foster Care Alumni of America
Connecting Today...Transforming Tomorrow

Earlier this month, you may have seen the memo from DCF Secretary George Sheldon calling on the child-welfare community to make it a priority to treat children in foster care like every other child.  The full memorandum is attached here.

We believe the Secretary’s memo is a step in the right direction.  If you agree, we encourage you to take a minute to email the Secretary a brief note of thanks at george_sheldon@dcf.state.fl.us.  By encouraging good work when we see it, we are using our collective voices to fulfill the “transforming policy and practice” piece of FCAA’s mission that is critical to our success.  I think we can all agree that changing the culture of foster care will take time, and every action we take can go a long way in making a positive shift.

Thank you in advance for adding your voice to ours in recognizing this step by the Secretary.
