Washington Chapter

“I’m inspired by the other alum who do so much for youth in and from care. I’m inspired to be a leader because I know that my presence as an alum will give encouragement to others from care. I want to make a difference in the lives of youth in and from care.”

—Lura Landon, former WA Chapter President

The Washington Chapter of Foster Care Alumni of America was made official in December of 2013. We are committed to improving foster care through multiple means: public awareness events like the annual Foster Care Walk, where we are joined by our brothers and sisters from around the country; social justice work through volunteering with organizations that provide direct services to foster youth and by speaking with law makers; as well as social support to members and non members alike.

While we’d like to be more inclusive of our potential members from around the state, at this time our meeting locations are held in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area. If you are interested in starting a local group in your area, please let us know as we may be able to help connect you to other interested people.  Be sure to check in with us about the when(s) and where(s) of meetings too!

In addition to our public Facebook page, we also have a Facebook group where we communicate with one another regularly. Message us at our Facebook page to find out how to be added!
